I’ve been looking for toilet paper every time I go to the store for the past 2 weeks. It’s sold out everywhere and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change any time soon. I know I’m not the only one looking for my everyday shopping items and struggling to find them. And I’m not only seeing scarcity at the grocery store. It’s scarcity on the news. Scarcity on social media. Everywhere you turn you’re seeing or hearing about scarcity. So how can you keep your head up in these trying times? Learn to maintain an abundance mindset when you’re surrounded by reports and obvious indications of scarcity!
Write Yourself a Letter
Remind yourself of times in your life when you’ve seen evidence of abundance.
We’ve all had experiences where we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Or when we’ve gotten an unexpected check in the mail at the moment we really needed it. Every single one of us has, at some point, struggled with fear of scarcity in some way only to have an unexpected turn in the situation! This is a perfect example of abundant provision!
Write some of your experiences with abundant provision. Don’t spare a single detail! Create a word picture so that you can easily visualize the scenario. And, don’t stop at just one. Take a little time each day to document a different experience. Preferably write them all in the same notebook!
When you’re struggling with anxiety, fear or finding it difficult to maintain an abundance mindset re-read, visualize or meditate on your past experiences. Remind yourself that this provision is ALWAYS available regardless of how things appear!
Keep a Coin Jar
I have to admit that I got this idea from a close friend of mine. I love it SO much I had to share it with you!
Keep a jar on your counter and whenever you find money unexpectedly, toss it in the jar. As you go about your daily life, you’ll start to notice change in the most unlikely of places. You may be surprised at how fast that jar will fill!
Found money is always a good thing! And it’s something you likely aren’t even asking for or manifesting directly. If there is such abundance that it overflows into your life indirectly, surely there is plenty for all!
Every time you look at the jar it will reinforce your abundance mindset and help you maintain it!
There is nothing that will keep you in an abundance mindset like a consistent gratitude practice! Focusing your attention every day on what you are grateful for makes you keenly aware of the incredible provision you have in your life!
This sounds simple and sometimes feels silly but writing down at least 5 things a day that you’re grateful for will keep your head in the right place! There is simply nothing better than acknowledging the abundance you already have!
And, why not get the whole family involved! Take turns sharing something you’re grateful for at the dinner table! Challenge everyone to come up with something different each day!
Surely if you are provided daily with a sun that rises and breath in your body you have something to be grateful for!
The Same Line
If you’ve heard it once you’ve heard it a million times, avoid comparison! That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have an awareness of what’s happening in the lives of those around you though!
Rather than being envious or comparing yourself to others consider changing your perspective! If you see that someone else is doing well remind yourself that this is encouraging! It means that type of abundance is available and not just to them but to EVERYONE!
Imagine that you were at a fair and you saw someone walking around with the most decadent, delicious pastry you’d ever seen. Better yet, that pastry is healthy, zero calories and FREE! Would you ask where the line is? Would you get in that line? I’ll bet the answer is “YES!”
Why not do that with everything! When you see someone who’s accomplished what you want or has something in your life that you long for, ask them how they got it! Get in that line! Remember that there is enough! There is more than enough! There is abundance all around you!
When someone else gets there, instead of being jealous or beating yourself up, find reassurance. Take it as encouragement and confirmation that what you’re after is out there! Allow the success of others to nurture your abundance mindset!
If you’re struggling to maintain an abundance mindset find support and encouragement! We can all benefit from a cheering section!
Surround yourself with likeminded people, both in real life and on social media! If you’re looking for an uplifting community to help you not only cultivate and maintain an abundance mindset but to also help you reduce stress and accomplish goals I hope to see you in my Facebook Group.
What you allow into your thoughts is going to make an impact! So, cultivate your relationships and social media feeds. Turn off the tv if it’s getting you down. Surround yourself with people and content that support an abundance mindset!
The one thing you can ALWAYS count on is change! Things are always changing. Today things may look difficult and dire but next week, next month or next year they won’t! Things will change. Nothing is permanent except abundance (regardless of appearance).
Remove the limitations you’ve put on yourself and your life! Use this time to discover your BIG, AUDACIOUS dream and make a road map to go after it! There is abundance all around you and in no time at all it’ll be evident! Be ready to grab ahold of it with both hands!
Abundance Still Exists
Regardless of what you’re seeing you know that there is abundance all around you! Right now you may be struggling to access it but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there! Don’t allow the perception of scarcity to permeate your mind or heart.
Remember things aren’t always as they appear. Just because stores have run out of toilet paper doesn’t mean there isn’t any. It’s still being manufactured, and it’s still being distributed to stores. People are simply buying more of it than they need. So, even that is abundantly available. It’s simply in a different location than it usually is. I wouldn’t mind knowing where the new line is (haha).
In the meantime, I’ll be holding tight to an abundance mentality and counting on whatever I need being provided for me. I hope you will too!
